What is FSSC 22000 Version 7?
FSSC 22000 Version 7 is the updated version of the FSSC 22000 scheme, officially published by Foundation FSSC on 1 May 2026. It replaces Version 6.
FSSC 22000 is one of the best-known international certification schemes for food safety management systems and is recognized by GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative). The scheme is used by organizations in the food industry, packaging manufacturing, logistics, storage and other activities along the food chain.

What is new in FSSC 22000 Version 7?
Version 7 includes updates in six areas — from food fraud to auditor competence.

What is the transition period?
Following the publication of Version 7, a 12-month transition period has been set for certified organizations to adapt their management systems and processes to the new requirements.

Foundation FSSC publishes FSSC 22000 Version 7. The transition period begins.

Audits are conducted against FSSC 22000 Version 7 only.
