Who is involved in certification

Roles in the audit team

Under ISO/IEC 17021-1, the audit is carried out by an audit team, and the certification decision is made by people who were not involved in it. Before the audit you receive the names of the team members and can object to a particular auditor or expert.

  1. 01

    Lead auditor

Plans the audit, assigns the tasks, leads the meetings and is responsible for the report and the conclusions.

  2. 02

    Auditor

Gathers objective evidence through interviews, observation and review of documents.

  3. 03

    Technical expert

Provides specific knowledge of your activity. Supports the team but does not audit independently.

  4. 04

    Certification decision

Made by persons who were not involved in the audit, after a review of the report and the evidence.

What an auditor needs to know

Our auditors and technical experts have proven experience and in-depth knowledge in six areas.

According to Annex 1 to accreditation certificate No. SM 041 (ISO 9001), issued by RENAR on 20 September 2024. The activity codes follow NACE Rev. 2, on which the Bulgarian KID-2008 classification is based. The scope for the other standards is set out in the respective annexes.

We determine the EA code and the complexity of the activity.

  3. 03Audit team

We select auditors authorized for your EA code and standard.

  4. 04Technical expert

  5. 05Your consent

You receive the names of the team members and can object.

Questions and answers

Questions about the team

Short answers about the auditors, EA codes and the audit team.

Who are the auditors of Euro Standard Certification?

Auditors and technical experts who have proven their sector competence over the course of their careers. They are qualified under the procedures of CERTIND S.A., evaluated against the requirements of ISO/IEC 17021-1 and officially authorized to audit on behalf of CERTIND S.A.

What is an EA code?

The EA code is a classification of economic activities used by the European co-operation for Accreditation (EA) and IAF (now Global ACI). It groups NACE codes into 39 sectors and determines the scope of a certification body’s accreditation and the competence of its auditors.

How do I find out the EA code for my activity?

From the code of your main activity under KID-2008 — the Bulgarian classification based on NACE Rev. 2. Look it up in the list of EA codes, or describe your activity to us and we will determine it.

What does the technical expert do?

Provides the audit team with specific knowledge of the organization’s sector or processes. The technical expert supports the auditors but does not audit independently.

Can I object to a particular auditor?

Yes. Before the audit you receive the names of the audit team members and, on request, information about them, so that you can object to a particular auditor or technical expert.

Who makes the certification decision?

The decision is made by persons who were not involved in the audit. They review the report and the evidence before issuing the certificate.

Do the auditors provide consultancy?

No. Auditors can point out opportunities for improvement, but not specific solutions for your organization, because ISO/IEC 17021-1 does not allow a certification body to provide consultancy to its clients.
